Hey Backers! Here's a big and important update regarding your reward and receiving it on time.
TL;DR
• We’re sending the official surveys today via BackerKit. This survey supersedes the Kickstarter survey you received last week.
• Early-December rewards (Early Birds & First Hour) have been checked into our warehouses and are ready to ship.
• The Canada Post strike is ongoing; we’re adding express shipping options for Canadians who don’t want to wait for the strike to end.
• We’re obligated to collect sales tax for backers in certain U.S. states.
• Solutions for backers with private Apple ID emails and dropped payments.
• You can now change your reward to the April Color batch on BackerKit.

BackerKit
In our eagerness to get your rewards delivered as quickly as possible, we sent you a survey last week through Kickstarter itself, expecting it to be capable enough to handle your responses. We were wrong. It turns out the native Kickstarter survey is quite limited. As a result, we received hundreds of DMs from you requesting basic changes that weren’t possible with the Kickstarter survey.
With nearly 8,000 backers, we realized it would be impossible for our small staff to manually manage your responses using the Excel file provided by Kickstarter without making mistakes.
That’s why we’ve partnered with BackerKit, a post-funding platform that offers our backers a ton of flexibility. With BackerKit, you can edit your responses, order add-ons at our Kickstarter price, change your reward tier to the April batch, and more. Plus, it integrates directly with our shipping platform, allowing us to ship your rewards quickly and with minimal errors.
BackerKit also provides live chat support for any basic questions while filling out your survey. For anything more complex, we’re more than happy to assist. And don’t worry—you don’t need to create a BackerKit account to complete your survey.
We apologize for the inconvenience of this extra step, but we had to make this switch immediately to ensure a smoother fulfillment process—and to preserve our own sanity! Please make sure to complete the new BackerKit survey, even if you already responded to the initial one without any issues. We will only be using the data from the BackerKit survey to fulfill your rewards.
Shipping Schedule 📦
As you may recall from our second update, we shipped the inventory during the second week of our campaign. I'm excited to announce that the inventory has since arrived and has been checked into our U.S. warehouse in North Carolina.
For international backers, we had initially planned to ship rewards from warehouses closer to you. For example, for E.U. backers, we’ve been working with a fulfillment center in the Netherlands to handle shipping. However, setting up these international centers is taking longer than expected, and we don’t want to risk delaying our promised ship dates.
As a result, at least for the Early-December batch—and likely for the Late-December batch as well—we will be shipping rewards from a fulfillment center located in the same city as our manufacturer in China. It typically takes 7-10 days of transit for most countries and there will be a tracking number.
Early-December: We expect to ship these rewards on or before December 16th so they have the best chance to arrive by Christmas.
If you've added April Colors add-ons, they will ship in a second shipment in April.
Late-December: Expected to ship by December 30th.

January: Expected to ship by January 31st.

April: Expected to ship by the end of April.

My Dear Canadians 🇨🇦
As I'm sure you know, Canada Post has been on strike for what it seems to feel like forever and they've picked the worst time to do it (or if you ask them, the best time of year to give them the highest leverage for their negotiations). Even if the strike ends tomorrow, from what I'm told there would be at least 2-3 weeks of backlog before anything can ship. As you can imagine the $5 we charged you to ship your reward would only cover the cost of shipping if we ship with Canada Post. Whatever low-cost service we use will need Canada Post to handle the last leg.
That's why we've added a $25 add-on option that will be visible to you in the BackerKit survey. If you absolutely need to receive your December reward by Christmas, we can ship it directly from North Carolina, and the $25 will cover our additional cost of using UPS instead of Canada Post. If you don't mind waiting for the strike to end, we'll get it shipped at no additional cost as soon as Canada Post resumes operations.
U.S. Sales Taxes 🇺🇸
As with any business in the U.S., we are obligated to collect sales tax in states where we have a nexus. For us, these states are: CA, FL, GA, HI, IA, IL, MD, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OH, TX, and UT.
Initially, we were under the impression that Kickstarter would handle collecting sales tax when backers entered their address and payment information. However, it appears that they don’t. So when you complete the BackerKit survey, if your shipping address is in one of the states listed above, you will be charged the applicable sales tax. For most backers, this will amount to no more than a couple of dollars.
Apple-ID Kickstarter accounts 📲
If you signed up for Kickstarter using a private relay Apple email instead of your usual email, you may not have been receiving any emails, including the link to the BackerKit survey. Here’s what to do:
• If you already replied to the first survey we sent through Kickstarter last week and provided an alternate email in the last question, we’ve already updated your email. You don’t need to do anything else—you’ll receive the BackerKit survey later today. If you don’t receive it by tomorrow night, please send us a DM after checking your spam folder, just to be sure.
• If your Kickstarter account was created with your Apple ID and you haven’t provided an alternate email, please DM us with a valid email address so we can add it to the BackerKit surveys being sent out.
Important: Do not send us your email if you didn’t sign up for Kickstarter with your Apple ID, as it will only slow us down. 🙏
Payment didn't go through on Kickstarter? 💳
Some backers have reported that their card could not be charged by Kickstarter. That’s okay—you can fix this when you complete the BackerKit survey. The amount due will simply appear at checkout.
If you completely missed our campaign, you can still pre-order through BackerKit at our late-pledge prices.
Changing your reward to the April Colors 🟡🔵🟠
One of the most common messages we received was from backers wanting to change their reward tier to the April color options. With the native Kickstarter survey, that wasn’t possible. However, we’re happy to announce that you can now switch your reward tier to the April batch directly within the BackerKit survey.
When you receive the BackerKit survey, click on your "pledge level".
Click on "Switch Pledge Levels"
Select an April Color pledge level that best suits you.
